SMK designed and developed a new product line of compact textile electrical connectors called REACTEX®2. There have been great advances integrating sensors and circuitry into textiles and fabrics for apparel that do more than fashion.
However, the ability to connect to the smart apparel for providing power, connectivity, and data transmission has not advanced at the same pace. SMK’s new product line is specifically designed to solve this problem and make smart wearables even smarter, more reliable and much easier to use.
Features
Electrical contact between conductive yarn and conductive printed patterns and connectors can be connected without the use of solder
The structure is designed to press the electrical connection parts against each other
The rivets ensures contact stable contact
Traditional connector systems often use the contacts as the retention mechanism, holding the two connector parts together. This creates a problem for reliability over time due to deterioration of the mating surfaces with increased mating frequency.
The problem of contact reliability degradation caused by the number of mating cycles is prevented by using a separate mating retention mechanism and electrical contact mechanism
The use of common parts and standard rivets for fixation allow garment manufacturers to easily install the connector onto the garment, providing total cost advantages
Because the contact points in the connector are standard, we can easily manufacture the three to eight pin versions
Additional parts are not required when changing the number of poles, since the stamping parts for the electrical contact mechanism are the same parts. Rivets for mounting are already widely used in the world, so users can easily install them
